There once was a time when people climbed ladders, walked roofs and blasted their siding with power washers to remove algae and other dirt and grime. Thankfully, those days are in the past.
Professional power washing contractors now use a process called soft washing to remove algae and dirt from their siding, gutter exteriors, downspouts, soffits and fascia.
This process uses low pressure water mixed with a small amount of cleaning detergents and sodium hypochlorite to clean your siding without ever using a ladder or a high pressure stream of water.
Although high pressure water is great for most cleaning applications, vinyl siding should only be cleaned with low pressure. If high pressure water is used, it generally causes two major issues.
The first and most pressing concern is that the highly pressurized water will push up and under the siding. If this happens, it is nearly impossible to detect, and can cause a whole host of other issues, such as mold and mildew growth.
The other concern that comes with using high pressure water to clean siding is the high pressure stream of water can easily leave behind unsightly and permanent marks where the wand got a little too close. Using a power washer at high pressure can even cause damage to the siding's surface, especially on wood siding or fiber cement siding such as HardiPlank.
Central Power Washing guarantees each house wash for 12 months from the date of service. If any algae stain returns within one year of your house wash, we will come back out and power wash your entire house for free, no questions asked. We stand behind our work every step of the way.
Rarely will a small investment of time and money produce an instant and substantial return. Just imagine this: You call Central Power Washing and get a quote over the phone. You love the price! (generally around $300 for an average size house) You love the quick response (it's on the schedule for tomorrow afternoon) And you love the fact that you didn't even need to get out of bed to make it all happen.
The best is yet to come! After two or three hours, your house is completely refreshed! It looks like you just got brand new siding, gutters and fascia! You can hypothetically sell your home for two percent more than you could this morning! For a few hundred dollars, you just made a few thousand if you choose to sell. Not bad!
Rest assured that the price you are quoted is the final price you will pay. Our proposal will always match our invoice. We charge a flat rate, never an hourly rate.
Our detergents and cleaners are always eco-friendly, pet safe, child safe and safe for plants and wildlife.
Our cleaning solution is comprised of three parts; water, surfactant and sodium hypochlorite. Water is harmless, and surfactant is just a fancy way of saying detergent, such as concentrated dish soap. The purpose of using surfactant is to allow the water and soap to spread out over the siding, instead of beading up and running off like pure water would do.
Finally, there is sodium hypochlorite, or commonly known as bleach. The concentration is very low, about 1% sodium hypochlorite. The amazing thing about bleach is how it breaks down when released into the environment. The amount of available chlorine in the bleach is neutralized when it contacts any organic material. The bleach itself breaks down into three components; salt, water and oxygen.
To keep your plants safe, we thoroughly soak any plant life in the work area with fresh water before, during and after the house wash process.
The end result is fresh, clean siding that makes you the envy of the neighborhood.
Could your house benefit from a house wash?
If your house is more than a few years old, try this test. Go outside and look closely at the north side of your house. Is the siding growing green or brown stuff on it? Maybe your gutters started out white, but now they are getting grey with black streaks. Give us a call. We will come out and give you an honest and accurate assessment. Your house will thank you.
